Hustle Culture: If you can’t beat em join em

It seems everyone these days has a side hustle. As I mentioned in my last post I work for a startup and am a member of an executive team but even I am curious about the side hustle culture that seems to have popped up over the past several years. Everyone I know from friends and family to even some coworkers have something going on. With my company currently being on a razor’s edge between success and failure I’ve decided to take the leap and try my hand at my own side hustle. I’m not quite sure where it will lead me but at the very least it’s going to scratch the itch of creativity that I’ve been sorely missing from my 9 to 5 job. I think I am truly just looking for something, anything, to get me out of my current funk and this is exciting and new.

I’m not sure that blogging is still in fashion the way it was but I’ve been looking for something to get back to writing. It’s also an opportunity for me to share what I’ve learned as an executive and share my journey as I figure out what’s next in my career. It’s also something of an accountability tracker in terms of how I am prioritizing my health. As I mentioned I’m pretty burned out with my job and how I prioritize it over everything in my life. This blog is a way for me to carve out time to share not only what I’ve learned but to share my struggles as I move forward with my efforts to eat better, sleep better, move more, and hopefully figure out how the hell to finally lose weight.  That is a journey in itself and I will be sharing more about my health struggles soon.

If you are reading this then God bless you, I’m sure you’ve gathered thus far that I have no clue what the hell I’m doing in terms of creating a website that looks beautiful. I will figure it out, I always do. I don’t have any goals per se for this blog, I don’t have grand delusions of making this a full time job. I figured it could be something fun, an escape from the boredom of my current life, and if it turns into something more than that’s great.

Thanks again for being here. Anyone else try their hand at blogging or another side hustle? Leave a note in the comments, I’d like to know if everyone is drawn in by the idea of a side hustle or if I am here on my own.
